Bandwidth Saving Ideas!!! Arenanet you need to use these

, well some of these have been requested before and people can add some to this post please also /sign.

Well i shall start off with

Character Switching (Not having to login again would stop people having to reconnect to the game and also it will make things easier for us

New Map System (Let us change maps rather than using the travel system.. would save alot of bandwidth)

Alliance Battle on Map put a alliance battle outpost on the map so people dont have to go to the guild hall

Personal Town System (I know this takes away some of the Onlineness of a game) it will only connect you to a town map with your party or henchmen so no more WTS everywhere

Auto Updater able to be turned off...

Full Client Mirrored etc at the moment you let people download the installer for the login menu and people auto update the full game to them.. why cant people download Full clients im sure that websites will be happy to mirror them like File Planet etc

If you do this arenanet then there will be no excuse why a auction house cant be added since your bandwidth cost wont be bad at all

Please add to this list and /sign as much as you can if you like the ideas I personally want Arenanet to see this.

Character switching is not allowed because of security it has nothing to do with bandwith, if you still want this, add make your target box in your shortcut have this "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -password=yourpasswordhere
There, no need to retype your info, just select the option to remember your email and your done.
I dont completly get this one, let us change map instead of travel?If you mean the same as the AB suggestion, then read below.

So make it that you can go to AB map from a boat on the factions map? sure, why not. ( dont see how this helps with bandwith)

Personal Town system , no thank you, this is already very easy to do just turn off local and trade and you have the same thing you want, except there are still people there, for if you want to interact. ( doesnt help with bandwith, it makes you use more since for every person that wants this they need theyr own map.

They cant give you the option to put auto update off since almost every update is needed to make the game fair or less buggy,i mean if they were to fix an exploit that makes ectos drop every single time from devourers outside ascalon and you didnt download this update you could just abuse this exploit.

The full client download , you know why they dont make you download it full, because people that only have phrophecies will in this case have to download all factions and nightfall maps , which they will never go to.This is exactly whats so great about GW download system you dont have ( so much) junk that you will never ever use,meaning less bites used on your pc meaning less downloading that you have to do,meaning less bandwith Anet uses to send it to you.

So to your suggestions.
1.no, not needed,we can already do it without risking security.

3.Sure why not it makes it easier
4.Not really needed , easily achievable if user wants to do it.
5.Not possible and i dont see why you would want it.
6.Sorry but no, i really like the GW system of only downloading what you need.

I think the bandwidth saving point would be that you don't have to load an extra instance. Just switch maps and map directly to the location.

Let's say someone wants to go from Yak's bend in Tyria to Venta cementary in Elona.

As is it now, that involves loading Kamadan (or with the case of AB - load the guildhall.) Then load Venta cemetary.

Letting you switch maps would save bandwith in that you'd not have to do that travel to and load Kamadan before you can map to your destination. It's cut out one step, sort of thing.

These downloads of Kamadan, that are just to wait for it to finish so you can bring up the map and go where you intended, probably count in the hundreds each hour. Cutting those out would save some bandwidth and pull less stress on the servers.

At least that's what I think the OP means with switch map to save bandwith.
